Acrylics are such fun!

I find acrylics to be my most forgiving medium of choice.

I absolutely love working with them. IMAG0503IMAG0486

Ah, Pastels!

So I was working on another Pastel painting last week….. It wasn’t going as I wanted it to go.

As usual I just kept plugging along manipulating it until I was ok with it.

Ha ha, I entered my first contest with that very same work! It is a first step of many to come for me.

Hitting the “send” button on my computer made me feel queezy. Eh, if its good enough good. If not, good too, because I like it and I overcame my fear and entered.

People are good

I have given my name and number and email to several thrift stores in hope of discount art supplies.
I have had such a good response. They all keep an eye out for any supplies I might need and give me a call or email to see if it is something that I could use.
Very cool! People are good for the most part.

A new painting in progress!

The thoughts of others

Today I had a very good friend of mine tell me that she had never seen anything that I had painted “just out of your head”.

I told her, ” Yes, I have done that many times for example, remember the painting about Alzheimer’s?”

” That painting came from my head and my heart. I had to paint that one because I was so sad about a couple of people who I know who had passed on and had the disease.”

She replied “Oh, That one was a DARK picture.”

Lol, Yeppers! Alzheimer’s is not for sissy’s!!! You never know what other people are going to think and say:)

Off to finish my Sunflower Snack painting!

Hi, Come on in and join me!

Welcome to my Art blog!

I am so exited about Art. It comes in SO MANY shapes and forms, different mediums and styles.  So needless to say that this blog is all about my journey through many types of Art!

Me, Hmmmm? Lets just say that I’m a little quirkie to say the least. I have at least 8 super spectacular children!!!!(I only gave birth to 3). I have been blessed with 9 grandchildren so far. I have the world’s bestest Husband. He is very supportive in my CAUSE! Ha ha! He is a gem. I love my family more than anything else. Yes, more than Art:)

I have always been fascinated with any form of creative Art. (I write art with a capital “A” for a show of respect to it!) I have always doodled ever since I can remember. I took every Art class they had in school that I could sign up for. I felt the need to create in any way I could just get it out! Quilting, designing and sewing, crafting, sculpture, elaborate cake decorating! you name it and I tried to do it. Now all of this was in my spare time. (which there was NEVER enough of).

You work you live you yearn. I was yearning to learn how to paint, no not the house either! I mean I really wanted to PAINT! Ya know, like for REAL! So on my adventure I started! Boy is it a fun ride!!!!!!
